Hardware insertion, what is it and why is it important? If you are a manufacturer in automobile, aerospace, processing, or any other industry, then you must have needed hardware insertion at some point. It is a process where the compression force is applied to self-clinching fasteners to hold two metal plates or metal sheets together. In the past, hardware insertion used to be done by hand, but that has since been changed by the advancement in technology. It sounds impractical these days is you ask your fabrication team to fix over 1000 fasteners needed in the assembling line since we are all aware of the automation systems that can do that very quickly and accurately as opposed to humans who are not only slow but also make errors that interfere with the integrity of joints.
