Anodizing

This process involves using an advanced CNC machining process to add a thin layer of metal oxide to the exterior of the produced parts. It enhances the thickness of the natural oxide layer, improves corrosion resistivity, abrasion resistivity, protects the metal, and adds various colors for cosmetics. Some of the commonly anodized materials include aluminum, stainless steel, copper, zinc, magnesium, titanium, etc.

Passivation

Chemicals are used to add a protective layer on the surface of the material such as steel and stainless steel. It also enhances corrosion resistivity and chemical reactivity. In this process, the free iron and ferrous contaminants are removed from the surface by dipping the parts in acid solution thereby preventing rusting.

Electroplating

The part is immersed in an electrolyte where the electric current is passed through to reduce the actions. This method leads to the formation of a thin coherent layer on the parts that are connected as the anodes. The formed coat increases the thickness of any undersized part and also changes the surface property of the manufactured parts. The most common methods of electroplating are chrome electroplating and nickel electroplating.

Painting

Paints are sprayed on the metal surfaces to act as a protective coat and also to add aesthetics as different color pigments can be used. Painting prevents corrosion and oxidation of the painted parts. It can be done on aluminum, steel alloys, and stainless steel.

Hot blackening

This is a chemical process where a reaction is triggered on the metal surfaces t reduce the shiny nature or to reduce reflections from the metal surfaces. It improves corrosion resistivity and can be done on different metal surfaces.
